The Bagpipes ...That's what I hear when I think of Scotland. Scenes from 'Braveheart' come to mind along with a lump in my throat. Its a jewel of unspoilt beauty and medieval castles taking you back in time and making you a little nostalgic along the way. And after eating your first battered Haggis and sipping the warmth of a smooth malt whiskey, you can't help but shout out loud ...
"FREEDOM !!!"
"FREEDOM !!!"

Day 1: Arrive early at Edinburgh Airport and make your way via the Tram system into the heart of Edinburgh and to your Hotel. Its a great city to explore so get out there and head up the Royal Mile and make your way to the Castle
As with any Tour we do , this is always a day to just settle in, so no riding today.
We will meet up in the reception later in the evening for a complimentary welcome drink and to chat about the ride ahead on the once very sacred North Coast 500

Day 2: After a hearty traditional Scottish fry up for breakfast, We head north to collect our motorcycles and get familiar with the new toys.
It just wouldn't be a tour of Scotland without a stop at the William Wallace Monument so that will be our first port of call before checking out Stirling castle and Robert the Bruce. Once the 'Braveheart' fever has subsided we will make our way through the windy twisty roads up to the beautiful West coast to Fort William and here we spend the night.

Day 3: This is where the NC500 Starts ...
Another hearty fry up and its up and away as we head west to begin one of the best riding routes on the planet. Destination - Applecross. You will want to go back up and down this stunning pass a million times on your bike, but alas we will eventually have give in and continue our way to Inverness where we will settle in for the night and make our base for the next 2 nights

Day 4: After managing to just about squeeze into your riding trousers we head up north to Ardvreck Castle. This was built by the Macleod Clan in the fifteenth century and runs along Loch Assynt. This has seen many a battle and everytime I see it and although its not the actual one, I'm reminded of scenes from the movie 'Highlander', where they are sword fighting whilst balancing on the ruin walls, after all " There can be only one "
Then its like riding through la la land as we make our way back to Inverness where we will spend another night.

Day 5: This morning we head out along the top of the NC500 coastline via Tongue and Thurso making our way over to John o' Groats, some beleive this to be the top of Scotland or lands end but they would be wrong as this title belongs to Dunnet Head. Then its Southbound as we make our way down the east coast of the NC500 towards the magnificent fairytale Dunrobin castle, its here we will settle in for the day to some more fantastic Scottish hospitalty and another whisky of course.

Day 6: After breakfast we leave this beautiful place and we continue South. We all know you cant go through Scotland the land of Bagpipes, Kilts and battered everything and not stop at a Whisky distillery ...especially this one The Glenmorangie distillery. Making sure you save the tasting for later when we get back to our hotel , we head down to Inverness to see if we can catch a glimps of the very shy and infamous Loch Ness Monster before making our way to another medieval treasure - Urquhart Castle before settling in for the night.

Day 7: This is the last day of your fantastic Scottish Adventure
After a final traditional Scottish Fry up we will say our farewells to this majestic, beauty rich and very proud country the Celts call home. We drop off our bikes before heading back to Edinburgh. Depending on your flight times, you can spend your last few hours soaking up the sights or go look for last minute souvenirs before catching the tram and heading off to the airport full of inspiration for your next motorcycle adventure.
